SEA TOUR SCANDOLA RESERVE IN CORSICA

The Best of the Corsican sceneries

⭐︎From Ajaccio to Scandola⭐︎

This exceptional sea excursion will allow you to discover a unique place in Corsica! This sea tour is proposed in yacht privatized as well as in semi-stiff boat.
Scandola Nature Reserve is located on the west coast of the French island of Corsica, within the Corsica Regional Park. The reserve was established in 1975. The park and reserve has been recognized by the United Nations as a Natural World Heritage Site, and was included in the World Heritage List in 1983.
There is no access by car within the Scandola natural reserve, and the access by foot it is difficult as it involves crossing very high mountains, so in practice the only way to enjoy the splendours of this coastline is by taking a boat.
Definitively it is worth making this trip and even more it is “a must”! You will discover some of the most spectacular coastlines to be found anywhere in Corsica!

Strange rock formations emerge from the crystal-clear sea in the Gulf of Girolata, and the coastline is peppered with jagged inlets and caves.
The site is beautiful every moment of the day but we recommend you to visit it in late afternoon, as the rocks catch the setting sun. Set against the blue of the sea and sky, the colours and the shapes are an extraordinary sight.

⭐︎ From Scandola to Girolata⭐︎

Girolata is a (quite inaccessible) village and region in the south of Scandola Nature Reserve in western Corsica. It falls within the western part of the Corsica Natural Park.
The dramatic setting, with the small village on a peninsula surrounded by the sea and running up the high mountains in the famous red rock of the region, make for a very impressive scenic location.
There is a small beach in Girolata, and an over watching Genoese tower that stands above the village. Below, a small natural harbour it is the perfect destination for the small yachts exploring the coast
The highlight is of course the scenery, the chance to see the wildlife, and the astonishingly clear sea water here.
In the absence of a road to take you to the village, there are two ways of access  to Girolata:
take a boat trip
arrive on foot ( 7km), 1h30

⭐︎From Girolata to The Calanche of Piana and to Ajaccio⭐︎

All along the coast you can admire the sea, a beautiful mingling of green, blue and turquoise you get to see on some Corsican beaches, over a background made of the  red-orange rocks and the green of the maquis on the hills and the surrounding mountains.
